Nuclear Reactor, Nuclear Instrumentation and Measurement, Radiation Matter Interaction, Radiation Protection, Nuclear Safety, Fuel Cycle, Simulations
Course Objectives
Based on their basic knowledge of the nuclear field and nuclear facilities, the objective is to introduce students to dismantling.
The interventions present students with the legislative framework, recall the general principles for facility decommissioning, procedures, measurement and waste management.
This course is conducted by speakers from ASN, EDF and ORANO.
Syllabus
Legislative and organizational framework
Procedures,
Nuclear safety and radiation protection specific issues
Specific instrumentation and measurement,
Inventory and characterization of nuclear waste
Waste management and outfalls
Practical work (TD or TP)
Dismantling examples at EDF and ORANO.
Workshop asking students to define a measurement solution adapted to a practical case.
Acquired skills
Knowledge of the legislative and organizational framework
Knowledge of the technical rules of the art and the dismantling process
Analysis of technical proposals related to inventory and characterization of nuclear waste (instrumentation / measurement)
